One of my fondest memories this year, which might sound weird, was making a pass at a friend and getting gently turned down. It was nice to have not waited so long, and built up so much anticipation that things got awkward afterwards.

Also, being able to get some good articles posted for Topless Robot before it went downhill was really nice. The highlight of the year was seeing the "Knock Off Super Heroes" list that I pitched and wrote in 2013 finally get published. Luke had been saving that for a rainy day since it wasn't time sensitive, and I'd had to update it a couple of times so that certain references could be more timely, but it was still fun to see other people's reactions to it. Then there was the list I did about Kingsman: The Secret Service, which was one of the fastest turnarounds from pitch to publication I've ever had (the only one I think was faster was my Robin Williams article).

2015 saw some of my best writing, both paid and otherwise, as I got some high praise for stuff on reddit, including getting gilded for a comment on the fan theories sub about how I'd start the 3rd season of Rick and Morty if I was in charge. It's been awhile since I did any creative writing, but the stuff I did this year was damned satisfying.
