My young- person college experience was that I burned myself out trying to work and school full-time.
I found that no employer particularly cared that I didn't have the degree.
On the other hand, all those years studying Spanish have been useful because now that the population demographics have changed I occasionally get to speak Spanish as part of my job.
I often get stares of astonishment from people in general when relatively fluid Spanish comes out of my face.
