I always enjoyed C&H but I always looked at it as just a funny moment, during their day, just like it read in the newspaper during my day. Trying to fill a movie with 90 minutes seems like it would take away from that. If Calvin was up to that crap all day every day, his parents would have to put him in therapy.

I picked Far side. Mainly because it's not episodic and there is no implied story other than that sentient, semi-anthropomorphic cows exist.
I can't see any way Larson's humor could translate without seeming mean-spirited or stupid.
But I really think Calvin and Hobbes need to be left alone too.
