Did they ever get to the Red Dragon stuff where Will Graham has to get Lecter's help in catching a killer? That would have been a good spot to end, but your idea is even better since Silence of the Lambs is the most iconic of the movies.

What I'd really love to have seen, is for the show to last long enough to get to the stuff from Hannibal, and give a proper adaptation, including sticking to the author's ending where Clarice and Hannibal end up as lovers/murderers gallivanting around the world of international high society and finding people to kill and eat.

I've caught the odd episode or two of Big Bang from time to time at a friends house. The hate is definitely overblown. I've heard criticisms ranging from "it's laughing at nerds, not with us" to "it's like blackface but for nerds". The fact is, that it's just another cookie cutter sitcom, but centered around a bunch of egg heads, instead of say, a bunch of bar flies or a bunch of blue collar workers at a factory. The only drawback to the show is timing. It hit the airwaves right as Nerd Culture became dominant and nerd audiences started expecting higher quality entertainment, because they were getting it. Put that show on TV back in 1996, and nerds would have loved it. General audiences would have liked it, and there would be image posts online nostalgizing the show right along with Friends, Seinfeld and Pokemon.
