For me, it's Constantine and Orphan Black. The latter is such a great show, and even though the former got canceled, I'm grateful to live in a world where it even got made at all.

I did enjoy Constantine and I'm sorry it was canceled.  I am liking iZombie and Supergirl.  Blindspot.  And of course, the final season of Hannibal.  Which I honestly thought should have ended with a young FBI trainee introducing herself to Hannibal.  "Hello, Dr. Lector, I'm Clarice Starling." Fade to black. But didn't.

Did they ever get to the Red Dragon stuff where Will Graham has to get Lecter's help in catching a killer? That would have been a good spot to end, but your idea is even better since Silence of the Lambs is the most iconic of the movies.

What I'd really love to have seen, is for the show to last long enough to get to the stuff from Hannibal, and give a proper adaptation, including sticking to the author's ending where Clarice and Hannibal end up as lovers/murderers gallivanting around the world of international high society and finding people to kill and eat.

Yes, this last season was all about Red Dragon. Last ep was them killing him. Bloody, stabbed, etc. They are sort of hugging each other and go over the cliff together and that's the end. Of course, we know that's not the end, because Silence of the Lambs.

Agents of SHIELD.  Interesting, suspenseful and action-packed.  I feel more connected to "traditional" nerdery because I am in on this.

BBT.  The nerd hate for this show is misguided.  I like the characters and think the show is amusing and fun.

I've caught the odd episode or two of Big Bang from time to time at a friends house. The hate is definitely overblown. I've heard criticisms ranging from "it's laughing at nerds, not with us" to "it's like blackface but for nerds". The fact is, that it's just another cookie cutter sitcom, but centered around a bunch of egg heads, instead of say, a bunch of bar flies or a bunch of blue collar workers at a factory. The only drawback to the show is timing. It hit the airwaves right as Nerd Culture became dominant and nerd audiences started expecting higher quality entertainment, because they were getting it. Put that show on TV back in 1996, and nerds would have loved it. General audiences would have liked it, and there would be image posts online nostalgizing the show right along with Friends, Seinfeld and Pokemon.

I think it's because actual nerds hate that it is so true and they refuse to recognize themselves in it. I was a geology major. We hung out with the biology majors and the physics majors, and we were a bunch of NERDS. Several of them were still virgins in their early 20s, a lot of them had never even been on a date, when they met a girl, she was immediately put off by the science stuff they wanted to talk about ("hey, random bar girl, want to hear about fossils?" No. No she doesn't.) We wanted to watch David Attenborough documentaries on Friday nights. That show is like a flashback to my college days.

Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll was good. Denis Millar plays a has-been rockstar who finds out he's a dad.
    The Brink was fun.
    Sense8 was really good.
    Tyrant also good.

    I watch too much tv

I did enjoy the Brink, and I almost didn't watch it. But it's good.

Just checked back in on your blog.. I'm loving the mothman stuff. You need to do a cryptozoological comic with all of those. Greys, Mothman, Bigfoot, Yeti

If these same actors were playing these same characters with more or less the same story lines, but the show were to be shot in a faux documentary style like Modern Family or The Office, the Nerd crowd would eat it up with a spoon.
