I know I complain about her often and you guys may think I'm over-reacting or something, but this is the kind of stuff I deal with all the time.  This isn't a learning curve.

No, she's just dumb as toast.

As for me, I have taken off early and I am sitting in No Frills grill drinking a beer to,try to numb the pain in my ankle. Will be buying new shoes in a few.

I agree with Patch, maybe you need to look into a brace to wear while working. What about that Dr. Scholl's foot machine thing? I've seen those commercials, where you get on and it tells you what's wrong with your feet and what type of shoe insert you need to help.

I don't think New Girl works after a year. Lets call her Dumbassia from now on. Sounds like shes just there to draw a check and cares little about how she does it. I see that a lot in our company. Mainly from our son-in law CFO.

Oh, yea, she doesn't want to work. I do generally refer to her as Coworker...maybe Dumb Coworker will work? I called the other one Lazy. She could do the job, she just descended into not WANTING to do anything. This one...maybe a combination of lazy and dumb. Or maybe so dumb she seems lazy but it's because she forgot.

Please allow me to complain a little bit. New Coworker has been here a year next month. One of her jobs is paying our fuel bill. She's been doing for about 9 months. It's not difficult-you match up receipt with the entry on the bill, then determine which research project it belongs to and make a spreadsheet with the total for each project account number used for payment, then send the whole thing in to campus, where they deduct the funds from the accounts and request a check from the state. The hardest part is getting the balance right, because it's easy to transpose a number in the spreadsheet or miss a decimal. Anyway, she's working on December's bill and emails me asking if a specific employee has already terminated. He has. Now she's in a panic because she can't find his fuel receipts and now what do we do because he's gone!?. However, this employee never had a fuel card. His boss is located on the mother ship, but she has a few research plots here, and so he's officed here to work on those, but he uses a fuel card assigned to the mother ship, not us. He brought all his receipts to me, so I could send them to his boss. She has a list I've given her of all the fuel cards that are checked out and who is assigned which one. *usually* I find that this happens when my shoes are wearing out.  MY feet aren't correctly supported and things go sideways. But I bought new shoes last week and things are still killing me.

Anyway, I bought a different brand of shoes this time (Skechers with the microfoam support insoles) and I might have to ditch them and get new Dockers.  I'll decide today when I get to the mines.

Arkay-- in regards to what we talked about-- no news. I'm edgy with anticipation and I am afraid whatever happens I will be disappointed.

Thanks for allowing me this mini pity party.

That sucks. I had Plantar Fasciitis and pushed it until I tore my Plantar tendon. I was in a boot for weeks. Once I was out I got some good insoles and had no trouble. Over Christmas I got new shoes, didn't put the insoles in, hit the tread mill routine again and sure enough, now my other foot has the same problem. I'm buying new insoles today and have been splinting my foot at night. I don't want to tear this one.

You should get one of those support straps on it.

Last time this happened was just before the They Might be Giants concerts last year. I bought new loafers, and the pain left withing days. I'm thinking the Skechers loafers aren't getting the job done. Doesn't help that I am fat guy.

I know I have told this on the old site so you may have heard it. "The Fillion" was scheduled to be at Dallas Con. I bought tickets, photo op, the works. I was excited to see him, because I was a huge Firefly fan. A few days before the con he cancels saying he has an eye infection. Then posts pic of him at a get together (I think it was Mexico but I could be wrong. It was sunny and beachy) He's laughing it up wearing sun glasses. a easy cover for an eye infection.

I think he made it all up to go someplace fun instead of meeting nerds like me. I had to trade of my pic for Adam Baldwin. It was still fun because Colin Ferguson was there and he was hilarious. Still "The Fillion" stood me up.
I want to go to his Q&A panel and ask him about it, just to put him on the spot and probably get thrown out, by more forgiving nerds than me. cheers

But may result in other infections.

He cancelled when I was inline for his autograph. I think he had sustained an arm injury earlier in the day. I forgive him, but my Firefly conpic signatures is at 4 out of 9. (Out of 10 if Christina Hendricks should happen to be at a con)

I believe we have a duty to have a live get-together this year. I believe the options on the table are:

A comic con event in DFW followed (or preceded by) beer and snacks.
A casino night at Winstar. Mandatory Patch gambling lessons, followed by many, many drinks and crash in hotel rooms.
A movie night, meet at movie theater to watch xxx blockbuster scifi action fantasy film, then beer.

Or fourth option as proposed by whoever might think of it. (Cough cough kidnap Gonzo cough cough)

    What do we think?

Unless something happens, I'm down for DFW comic con.

I'll look into when and where it is being held. I'd hate to have it come and go in early February, say and we totally miss it because we were expecting it to be in May.

Looks like they're doing one in Irving on February 13 and 14. That's gonna rule Patch out for that one, because I doubt Mrs. Patch will want him absent on Valentine's Day. There's another event in June from the third to the fifth also in Irving.

Looks like there's 2 again. The one in February at the Irving Convention Center, which I think is called Fan Expo Dallas, and the summer Dallas Comic Con, which is in June this year.

Are they...whatever they call it, recognizing it as fraud and you aren't responsible for the balance?

I better not be. They didn't even catch it. So much for fraud prevention. They will have to do a investigation so I doubt I'll have it back into my account anytime soon.
