    Where are you staying?

It's usually either the MGM Grand or the Aria.  No itinerary has come out yet.

The Aria is great looking but too expensive for me. We went to dinner at one of the places there and went down to play in the casino. $15 min bets on Roulette, $25 on Blackjack. I was there with one of Rick Perry's high roller buddies, so he had plenty to play with. He dropped nearly 3K on dinner for 8.
I dropped a hundred and watch he and his daughter drop a grand or so a piece. Then I excused myself and went back to low roller casinos.

I'm fine with the MGM. I usually only play the slots anyway.

No meds. I have had foot and ankle related injuries since I broke my ankle when I was 8. I've fractured it 3 times since. The latest isn't ankle related, but the tendon had been bothering me for a few months. I didn't lay off it, pushed it and it tore. This time I took a month to let it get better, but it drives me crazy. Where before I'd have coffee in the morning, put in a mile or two, and do the same after dinner, I was having coffee, sitting, having breakfast, sitting, having a snack, sitting, having lunch, repeat. It doesn't take long for those bad habits to come back.
I'm sure dropping a few pounds will help. I won't be running anytime soon, but I wasn't much of a runner anyway. 8 more weeks and it should be good to go, I just have to do something different or I'm going to have to go buy new clothes. Shocked

Nope.  I first heard the song when I was in fifth grade.  My music teacher,  an older guy who was artistic,  joined a record club and once a month he had us sit quiet and he played the singles the club would send him.

No.  The song is just depressing as fuck with its "everything you do amounts to nothing"  lyrics and the violins and the howly wind sounds.

It makes me cry when I hear it and then I want to hear it again and then iI want tocrawl into bed.

I think she has compromising pictures of the boss.

We work for the state, so we have some strict rules for termination.  But, if he was documenting all this, as he is supposed to be, and speaking with her, and all that, it wouldn't be a problem.  The problem is, he doesn't want to do it.  He doesn't want to write a report for her HR file.  He doesn't want to have a 6-month review with her because he doesn't want to prepare it.  That's a big problem with her now, is that he let so much go because he didn't want to deal with it.  He's a salaried position, who doesn't even work 40 hours a week.  At least twice a week he goes out to "check" on the wheat or the cotton, etc, and is gone 3 hours.  And now, it's too late, she's been "trained" to do whatever.  I can complain about terrible she is, but that's partly because our supervisor has done nothing to make her be any better.
My personal belief is, he has retirement on his horizon and is looking for the minimal amount of work he can get away with until whenever that day comes.

It's simpler than that.  We don't want to deal with documentations and write ups. It's an unpleasant conversation at best,  an angry confrontation at worst and we don't like it.  On top of that writing up a person of a different gender makes a boss worry that he will be accused of treating women differently than men.

I've had a girl threaten to accuse me of sexual harassment just because iI dared to ask her to get off the cashwrap area and go outto her department and straighten up merchandise.

Another had her parents call to bully me,  claiming I'd said something inappropriate.  They asked me if I could PROVE  that I  hadn't said some insult.   My answer was of course iIcan't prove such a thing. Did they want me to find someone who never heard me not say something?

That's why he always has me sit in with him. He doesn't want something like that being said. But yes, he doesn't want to deal with anything extra.

Possibly. I'll have to check and see whats going on this weekend. I know I'll be over in Burleson tomorrow. My son has a football game there. Thursday cross country meet somewhere around Mineral Wells. Then Friday we are heading to Abilene for a Volleyball game. Not sure what the weekend schedule looks like yet,

rkwsuperstar wrote:Well, here we go again.  After the issue with the boss telling me he might take away my already approved day off, I reminded him that I was off on 10/12 (another date he has already approved) for 2 doctor appointments.  I told him they were yearly exams, and I've had the appointments since last year, so I really didn't want to have to change them.  (Also, I try to do 2 appointments on the same day so I can take a whole day of sick leave, and not have to rush an hour back to Supesville to work part of a day)  He says no problem, if we are both gone, then so be it.  Okay.  So this morning, he tells me that it looks like the thing is happening that week, and he'll be out.  I remind him again of my 2 appointments, and say something like we need to give her a list of duties to keep her busy all day (his biggest concern is that she'll go sit in someone's office and gossip all day, or sit on her cell phone talking to her boyfriend).  He then asks me if it's a problem for me to re-schedule my appointments.  Uh, yes.  I remind him again of the conversation we had about these being yearly appointments, and he says "are you sure you can't be here part of the day?"  Uh, one is at 10 a.m. and the other is at 2 p.m. and they are both in WF, an hour away.  Yes, I'm sure I can't be here part of the day.
I get his point, he doesn't trust her to work, but what am I gonna do?  I have no authority over her.  How about stepping up as her boss and informing her that expects certain things to be done and there will be consequences if they aren't?
Nice way to start the week.

Fire him and take his job, the fire her and let me take her job.

    Maybe she is special.
I'd hire you.  I'd bet you could learn the names of the other employees in 7 months (she still hasn't learned them)

I have no doubt she has a learning problem.  And an attention disorder.  These are not problems, except when you do nothing to help yourself.

She may not know she has a learning disability.  Nearsighted people often have no idea their vision is messed up until they get glasses and suddenly realize the world is not built blurry.

That is true. However, she has said that she knows she can't spell, and she can't add, and she is disorganized. Then we offer her help (a dictionary, organizational suggestions) and she ignores them, then gets mad when she is called out on her spelling and math errors. So, she knows she has some problems and refuses to do anything about those.
