I have a non-nerdy rant for a moment. So, our official fiscal year 2016 holiday schedule was released this morning. My location shares a resident director with Amarillo, and we have one official HR representative for the both of us (budget cuts, you know, despite former Governor Perry's statements that we were never in financial trouble) and she forwarded the schedule to all of us. Now a bunch of idiots (and I mean Ph.D.s) are REPLYING ALL with a bunch of ridiculous comments about how campus bowed to pressure to change it from 'Christmas Break' to 'Winter Break.' That it's pathetic how easily they caved to pressure. In emails to every single person employed at both Centers. Now, campus has always referred to it as Winter Break. Our Center calls it Christmas Break. These are some of the same people who got pissed off when they found out they couldn't carry their guns into the office because 2nd Amendment! Yet they don't seem all that familiar with the FIRST amendment.
This isn't a rant so much about terminology, but about how it annoys me that people want to pick and choose the parts of the Constitution (and anything else, really) that suit them and any parts that they don't agree with don't really count. And also that if that is your opinion, keep it to yourself and don't use reply all.
